Rachel Murphy was deeply upset by the horrific experience his five pound dog Toto went through over the weekend. Rachel said that after Toto r was bitten by a dog, the groomer taped his mouth shut. The result? A bloody, distressed dog.
Rachel explained, "My pet was clearly distressed. What I initially thought was a muzzle turned out to be tape. Toto r’s paws appeared to be red and inflicted with injuries. The toenails had been cut too near to the paw which probably triggered his biting response."
Wow! My Dog - a mobile salon for pets - employed the groomer to perform these actions.
Rachel took Toto straight to the hospital for emergency medical care. Having joined numerous other accusers of animal abuse, Rachel accused Puppy-Lux. San Mateo initiated an investigation for possible animal abuse.
Rachel described his observations, saying "I saw wounds in the genital, neck, and near the joints." The wounds were so severe they caused bleeding."
Marianna De las Vegas is a Wow! My Dog customer who posted a Yelp Review about his pet being returned injured or ill. One customer recorded a Snapchat video of a dog that appeared to be in pain. The groomer was said to have forced a napkin inside the dog's ears.
Bad Review
In addition to the damning Yelp reviews, Wow! My Dog wants customers to be aware of what the groomer told him, as someone they had entrusted with their pets' well-being. Rachel stated, "Juliann informed to me that the use of tape to close the mouth is acceptable and normal. He claims it is preferred to using a mute, which is harmful to dogs. He mentioned that he used the same method for his own dogs.
Gate News contacted Wow! My Dog who answered it but handed it off to a woman, who informed her that she was investigating the allegations. However, when questioned about Wow! My Dog, she quickly asserted that it was a separate entity before abruptly ending the call.
